The basic vegetarian quiche recipe
Vegetarian Quiche Ingredients:
- 1 9inch unbaked pastry shell
- 2 ½ cup of well chopped onions
- Half a cup of sliced mushrooms
- 1 cup of chopped tomatoes
- Half a cup of chopped zucchini
- 1 piece medium sized green pepper, chopped as wall
- 1/4th cup of grated parmesan cheese
- 1/4th teaspoon of pepper (powdered)
- 1/4th teaspoon of curry powder
- ½ teaspoon of salt
- A pinch of ground cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons of butter or margarine for those that are really watching their BP
- 5 eggs
- 1/4th cup of milk
Vegetarian quiche Instructions:
Okay, now the first thing you have to do is to line your pastry shell with an extra thick, most likely double duty, layering of foil. After which, you cook that in an oven for about 5 minutes at 450 degrees. Once this is done, remove the foil and replace the pastry shell into the oven for another 5 minutes at 350 degrees. Sauté the onions, mushroom, tomatoes, and zucchini in the butter or margarine and add the salt, pepper, curry powder, and pinch of cinnamon. Once the vegetables are nice and cooked to your preference, you beat the eggs and add the milk and cheese. Put the vegetables into the shell, and equally pour your milk mixture unto the vegetables. There you have it, your very own vegetarian quiche.
Vegetarian quiche cooking tip
If you wish to have dryer and thicker zucchini after cooking, it’s suggested that you pre-salt them in coriander. This will improve the texture of the cooked zucchini in your quiche.
